Week 14 College Football Picks: Recap + NFL Picks
Another great weekend for me in college football. Well, to an extent. I started off 5-0 and ended up 6-3. 1-3 in night games in unacceptable. But hey, it's 66%, which my target result every weekend. Though I should be 7-2, had Arizona St. not screwed me over. The following will give a brief look at my NFL picks (which aren't really even mine- see below) and a recap of each NCAA game. I'm going to have to find a lot of other sports to occupy my sports picks section until the 23 straight days of football.
NFL Picks for Sunday, December 3rd:
Every one of my picks is made thanks entirely to my friend at Walter Football convincing me on each of them. I wanted to take the Dolphins and the Steelers, but he convinced me otherwise. Check his website out. It's got amazing in-depth information of the NFL and its upcoming draft along with other sports picks.
Washington -6
Jacksonville +6.5
Arizona -1
Cincinnati +7
NY Jets +1 (under 37.5): I've been thinking all week about how the Dolphins could win this game, but every reason I have for them winning can be countered the same for why the Jets should win. So, it's between "The Dolphins will win because they are playing the Jets" and "The Jets will win because they are playing the Dolphins." And since the regular season finale is in Miami and I may be able to attend a truly historic event, I'll root my ass off for the Jets. I'll be a Dolphins fan another year. I'll always take history over any team. Hell, no matter how much I hate Barry Bonds I still found myself hoping he would make history.

Matchup: Rutgers at Louisville, 7:30 pm ESPN
Spread: Louisville -2.5
Eisentower's pick: Louisville -2.5
Result: Louisville 41 Rutgers 38...Win...A great comeback on the shoulders of a Matt Ryan-esque late game performance by Brian Brohm. He may not have turned every drive into 6 points, but he did a damn good job of producing field position. Great job by the Cardinals.

Matchup: Army vs. Navy, M&T Bank Stadium, 12:00 pm CBS
Spread: Navy -14
Eisentower's pick: Navy -14
Result: Navy 38 Army 3...Win...I knew Navy would win and I figured it would be by at least the spread, but I never imagined by 35 points! The Midshipmen played flawless and the Black Knights were miserable. I can't help but mention that I told you so. The only time the game would be close was during the flyover.

Matchup: Virginia Tech vs. Boston College, Alltel Stadium, 1:00 pm ABC
Spread: Virginia Tech -4.5
Eisentower's pick: Virginia Tech -4.5
Result: Virginia Tech 30 Boston College 16...Win...A pick-6 in the final seconds for VT made it look like a near blowout, but it was a very close and fun game to watch. I got my way on both ends with the Hokies covering and the Orange Bowl halfway locked up with VT on one end. Starting off 3-0. Not too bad.

Matchup: LSU vs. Tennessee, Georgia Dome, 4:00 pm CBS
Spread: LSU -7.5
Eisentower30's pick: Tennessee +7.5
Result: LSU 21 Tennessee 14...Win...Okay, I said Tennessee would win outright and I was wrong. But that's not what matters in the game of sports wagering. It's the points. So, I got another one. By that mere half point that is always so valuable. 4-0.

Matchup: UCLA at USC, 4:40 pm ABC
Spread: USC -20
Eisentower30's pick: UCLA +20
Result: USC 24 UCLA 7...Win..Phew! I thought I was gonna lose this one. Good thing Pete Carroll has class and took a knee. It was totally one-sided, but the Bruins found a way to not let it get out of hand. 5-0! What a start!

Matchup: Pittsburgh at West Virginia, 7:45 pm ESPN
Spread: West Virginia -28
Eisentower30's pick: West Virginia -28
Result: Pittsburgh 13 West Virginia 9...Loss...First of all, to all you naysayers who think you "told me so." You may have been right about the spread, but there couldn't have been many more people who thought Pitt would pull off a victory as did the Appy St. win over Michigan. Pittsburgh played perfect football. They've been waiting all year for this, so why not? Good for them. Hell, whatever the world of NCAA football can do to make this season more interesting, I'm all for it. If it means me losing every once in a while, I don't care. 5-1. It was fun while it lasted.

Matchup: Arizona at Arizona State, 8:00 pm ESPN2
Spread: Arizona St. -6.5 (new line as of 11:00 am Thursday, ASU -7)
Eisentower30's pick: Arizona St. -6.5
Result: Arizona St. 20 Arizona 17...Loss...Okay, NOW I'M PISSED. You're going to tell me that you have a 10-point lead with under a minute to go and you punt the ball to the midfield logo. That's strike #1. Then you let the Arizona Wildcats storm down the field and get 7 points with :26 seconds left!!!??? Terrible. I know you don't care about spreads when you are a coach, but that's just lazy. Seal it up. Come on! So, to all those people who probably won't ever read this that took ASU and got screwed with 26 seconds to go, I feel you. But hey, that's college football. It happens. Rant complete. 5-2 on the day.
Matchup: Oklahoma vs, Missouri, Alamodome, 8:00 pm ABC
Spread: Oklahoma -3
Eisentower30's pick: Oklahoma -3
Result: Oklahoma 38 Missouri 17...Win...5 National Championship Trophies should tell you something. I got a pretty good idea of what's going to happen. And Vegas did too. Oklahoma is just too damn good this year. Their two losses were hiccups. This is a powerhouse that should never have lost. And they'll only get better with a freshman quarterback and talent up the butt at tailback and everywhere else. This was the one game I had all my focus on today and it went swimmingly. Good riddance, Mizzou. Cinderella stories are sweet, but she always lets that glass slipper fall off. It happens every time. Great victory. 6-2.
Matchup: Washington at Hawaii, 11:30 pm ESPN2
Spread: Hawaii -14
Eisentower30's pick: Hawaii -14
Result: Still going. I'll get to it tomorrow. Hawaii has made it a 7-point game at halftime, but I highly doubt they'll cover the spread. If they do, I'd love to be 7-2.
