Back To Haven

After 5 months of preparing for the upcoming season, I finally got the Spring Training (ST) package today. Winter Haven report date: March 2nd. One more month to the day until ST begins. I don't know what feels longer, the offseason or in season. I can tell you this, "next year" is long overdue.

For those of you who don't know me personally, I am a minor league pitcher with the Cleveland Indians. Last year wasn't the best year on record. I'll be the first to admit it. I need a big year this season and I put in the hard work necessary to have one. You see, typically I can only gain about 1 pound per year. I'm that guy. The guy who complains because he can't gain weight while everybody around him is trying to lose it. But hey, my problems are still problems. So what was my solution?  Get a trainer. Enough with my own motivation, let's get somebody yelling at me. It worked. I'm up to 200 pounds and it's pretty much all muscle. I'm too skinny for it to be all fat anyway. So, physically I'm in the best shape I've been in since college. That's going to be important. Mentally, I'm ready to put last year behind me and get back to what I did best in college. Pitch like the batter really pissed me off. Although it probably seems like that's how I pitched last season since I hit about every other batter.

So, one more month. Then it's back to early mornings, Christian gospel in the "cafeteria," and mechanics, mechanics, mechanics. I can't wait to get back into it. It's been forever and a day. Sorry if you've been coming to Eisentower30.com in hopes of some celebrity juice blog or sports gambling site. Once the season begins it's going to be lots of baseball and lots of movies. Come back and read it. You don't have enough time? That can't be true. It only takes a few minutes and you can't be busy 1440 minutes of every day.
