It's Not Tribe Time Anymore
Rest in peace to my career as a Cleveland Indian as of this morning. I was called into the offices and greeted with a very swift and to-the-point, "We're going to release you." The sentence no person wants to hear no matter what their job is. I can't say I didn't see it coming in some way. Being my 2nd spring training, I got a good idea of what types of players get cut before each season. Although I feel I still can compete at the professional level, my abilities did not fit in their organization's big picture. I have plenty of "things to say" about my experiences in the Indians organization, so stay tuned for that in-depth piece. It will be coming soon. For now, though, the search for a new, better team begins. The initial consensus is that there is some interest out there. But interest has a broad meaning. The key here is finding an organization that wants me as a baseball player. A team that is highly interested in what I have to offer them. I'll get more into the details of my experience looking for a new team as things progress. For now, let's just get back to the real world and writing about news and movies and other fun stuff.

Ah sorry to hear this man. I have enjoyed following your blog up to this point and will continue to read. Good luck with whichever team you wind up with. Might I suggest the Cardinals?

Mike: Sorry to hear about the news from the Indians. You know, sometimes these things happen for a reason and maybe another team will pick you up and appreciate your talent. Sometimes things work out better when changes happen--not that you need me to say that. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Mike: Now that your baseball career may be coming to an end you may have to start thinking about joining the rest of us working class stiffs - WORKING!
Good luck!

Mike, This is my first look at your site, and I think it's great. Your great grandmother Dee used to say, "everything happens for the best". I never completely agreed, but I'm glad that you have a better chance to get your degree at Marietta, and that you'll enjoy playing more.
PS: You're an excellent reporter. Maybe that's your ultimate career.
