Okay, I'm Sick Of This Sh..Stuff
It's time for a rant...
I'm a big golf fan. As much as I love to watch college football, golf comes in a close second (baseball is third). And I'm not just talking about watching Tiger. I enjoy the game as a whole. Especially when I put a little money on potential winners (the odds are usually real good). But I'm starting to get pissed. Golf is a game of grace. At the same time it's a game of failures, similar to baseball. Tiger is the single most dominant human in his respective occupation on the planet earth. You can argue that he doesn't match up with Bill Gates or Steve Jobs in the technology world, but I would fight you (verbally). But when those two moguls encounter a distraction (as rare as they are), do they make a big deal of it? No. All I've been hearing from Tiger's world lately is his gripe with the cameraman.

Look, Tiger, I get it. You need 100% focus at all times to compete at the level at which you succeed. But going ahead and blaming 3 of 4 random bogeys in your past year of play on camera noises is just absurd. You are the #1 player in the world. The best in your sport. I'm a baseball player. Not the best in my sport. But I understand the meaning of focus. You can't tell me you are focused on the task at hand if, in the middle of a backswing (after minutes of preparing for that shot) you can actually hear a camera shutter. I also own a camera. It's not THAT loud. Be realistic here. Why don't you just "clear the mechanism" and keep your mind in the 3 foot radius of yourself instead of worrying so much about that guy in the crowd who just wants a photo of the greatest golfer to ever live. Not everybody can afford a telephoto lens and get you up close from the par 5 green your teeing off at. Now Tiger is trying to say that the one camera snap took all the momentum out of his game. Jeez man. Are you that much of a headcase? All professional (and college) athletes are headcases. Superstitions, routines, silence, perfection. It's part of being good at what you do. But to play at the level Tiger has played at for the past decade or however long, it really does shock me that he can be so easily distracted. Then to go ahead and say he'd break the next cameraman's neck who distracted him? I know you just had a kid and your life is changing, but get a grip. You're still the best golfer in the game. Act it.

Don't get me wrong here. I'm not telling Tiger Woods how to play golf. I'm not better than him. What do you think I'm crazy!? No, I'm simply expressing my shock that a man of his talents and abilities can be so unfocused in times of the ultimate need for it. Take, for instance, when you are running. Those ambient sounds (like camera noises) typically get drained out. How can he hear these types of noises? I'm pretty much done with my rant as I've hit the wall on things to complain about. But I sure hope Tiger can keep his head on straight and refrain from snapping an innocent man's neck. That wouldn't help his long game now would it?

P.S.- If I ever make it to the Majors, feel free to criticize me as much as you want. With great power comes great responsibility (thanks Spider-Man). What kind of role model marries supermodels, doesn't get in trouble with the law, speaks well, and donates endless amounts of money to charities. I mean, seriously. Where is the Pacman Jones of golf? John Daly isn't enough for me. Someone call Happy Gilmore!

He is completely focused, always. Period. End of story. This rant is uncalled for.

I would have to agree with you Mike. For someone who claims to be completely focused, a camera shot (as you mentioned, is not that loud to begin with) should not cause him to flinch.
Is Tiger going to yell at the trees to stop creeking in 30 mph?
