Everybody Wants to Be Like U
Okay, that title may be a bit misleading. Today I have come across a stunning discovery. White, suburban, Catholic teenagers want to look like tough gangster rap rock stars. You're probably confused already. Just hear me out, then watch it yourself. The Chicago Bears Super Bowl team of 240 B.C. or however long ago since they won one made their own music video. We all still laugh at it today. Many teams have tried their own versions ever since, but only one athletic team has succeeded in creating a buzz for it. The U. In fact, every season a rap superstar remixes one of their hit singles to Canes lyrics (see Soulja Boy last season). This all stemmed from the team establishing the hardcore image which included the likes of the 7th Floor Crew and the many other law-abiding members of former Hurricanes football teams. But seriously, what the hell is this high school team doing!? Look, I will give them a little respect. The editing of this "music video" is well done. The song is kind of catchy in that 16-year-old-hating-the-world Linkin' Park way. But it's just so hard to watch young Catholic boys trying to be hardcore. I'm sorry, the two just don't mix. And no, the more eye black you wear does NOT make you look tougher. Neither does shaping it in exotic Native American war styles. Congratulations, you can scream and one of you owns a guitar. Actually, $100 says they just made the whole thing up using Garage Band and never touched a real guitar.
Just checked on the numbers. Last time I looked, 8-2 (this season) n the all-too-famous Mountain Division in Washington State doesn't grant you the right to post a music video about winning on the internet. Neither does posting a 9-3 record the year before (when you made the video). And yes, by putting it on the internet, you have given me the right to criticize.
Enjoy......
