Where Have I Been?

I've been all over the place over the past couple weeks that it's been difficult to keep the site updated. I promise to work a little harder. So let's talk about a few things here. First is baseball...

After my first start of the year in Kalamazoo, I left a bit unsatisfied. Only throwing 4 innings and leaving with a 3-1 deficit was not what I wanted out of my first start, but not pitching efficiently will do that to you. So, it's 5 days later and I pitch at Southern Illinois tomorrow. The temperature is supposed to reach 90 and it's an all-turf field so yo can add about 10 degrees to the original number. Should be fun. If fun is feeling like a wet rag covered in dirt. I'll write about the game tomorrow since we have internet here.

Kalamazoo was a memorable trip. Not only did we get lost on the way there, but it was a 4 hour detour. That was something else. But during the opening game, as I was charting pitches from behind home plate, 2 young, good-looking women were walking around the stadium. They walk up the bleachers to me. The next second I'm holding a free pass to the local strip club, called Deja Vu. Yea, these young, innocent looking ladies were strippers and were sent on a mission to attract some young dollars. I don't think anybody actually went, but it was enticing. Instead, we all went out and had a team bonding experience around town in the small Michigan college town. Prior to this night, our team was struggling and suffering an abysmal 1-6 start. Since this night, we've played much better and continue to work on a 4-game winning streak. Tomorrow is my turn to bring it to five.

In other news, the U.S. Open is coming up and I'm liking Adam Scott as usual. I really can't see Tiger Woods winning. In fact, I'm calling for Tiger to not win the U.S. Open and Big Brown to lose to Casino Drive in the Belmont Stakes.

Good luck tonight. Maybe the hot weather will help your control. We lived one year in Kalamazoo(1965) but the town has obviously changed... never saw a stripper then.

I can not believe that you would talk about some stripper that gave you a card, and not Katie and I. The only reason you had fun was because of us, we showed all around town and brought you to some pretty good bars. I know Butch would never treat us like that, and frankly I am a little surprised you would. I don't know if a road trip to Chicago to see you guys play is worth it now.
