TDK-Day Has Arrived

Well, it's been a long and eventful journey to today. A lot has gone down on and off the field since the first day I saw The Dark Knight's teaser trailer almost ONE FULL YEAR ago. But through all the ups and downs, one thing has been certain; The Dark Knight comes out at midnight tonight. Everything that has happened up until this day is basically just history. Think of today as my own personal universe's Big Bang.

Yesterday was a great day in itself. As I walked to Navy Pier in downtown Chicago, I completely unknowingly stumbled upon Chicago's Dark Knight premiere. Of course, my camera phone died on me as the celebrities began arriving. But what I saw simply soaked my appetite for this film. As Christopher Nolan (hands-down my favorite director), Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman (one of Hollywood's most underrated stars) worked their way down the red carpet I had so many questions I wanted to sit down and ask them. Instead, I simply enjoyed their presence. The highlight, of course, was the opportunity to see The Tumbler (from Batman Begins) and the Batpod (from The Dark Knight) live and in person. They are truly intimidating pieces of work and I sure wouldn't stand in front of one like The Joker.

This is all besides the point. By about noon on Friday you'll be able to head over to Eisentower30.com and read my official review of The Dark Knight. I'll have seen the damn thing 3 times already so I'm sure it'll be pretty complete.
